Boskalis Dolman, a subsidiary of Royal Boskalis Westminster, specialises in the remediation of polluted waterbeds and the processing of mineral waste materials. Methods devolved in house and plants designed and built under the company's direct management are being used for this purpose. To support its activities, Boskalis Dolman has its own research division and environmental laboratory.

Remediation of Polluted Sediment

Boskalis has developed the environmental disc cutter and horizontal profiling grab for selective dredging of contaminated sediment. Provided with an advanced positioning and monitoring system, this equipment can easily satisfy the required high level of positional accuracy which is essential for environmental dredging.

The contaminated sediment can be processed with the use of separation and de-watering methods developed in-house. The aim is to recycle and reuse as much sandy material as possible. The quantity of the residue to be disposed of is minimised by the stimulation of soil maturation processes or by the application of biological cleaning.

Boskalis Dolman has at its disposal different mobile plants for the onsite processing of contaminated sediment. Apart from the processing, reuse and disposal of the fractions are also dealt with.
